AI MoneyPal Privacy Policy

AI MoneyPal is a private expense tracking app designed to help you record, organize, and understand your personal finances. This Privacy Policy explains how AI MoneyPal handles your information.

Information You Enter in the App

You may enter or import information such as transactions, account names, categories, budgets, recurring bills, notes, receipt images, currency settings, and AI provider settings. This information is used to provide the app's bookkeeping, budgeting, receipt, and AI-assisted features.

Local Storage

Your ledger data is stored on your device by default. API keys and sensitive AI provider credentials are stored using Apple's Keychain when available.

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your app data may be synced through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services using your Apple ID. iCloud sync is provided by Apple and is subject to Apple's privacy practices and iCloud terms. AI MoneyPal does not operate a separate sync server for your ledger data.

AI Providers

AI MoneyPal lets you configure your own AI provider, such as an OpenAI-compatible API or other model endpoint. When you use AI features, the text, receipt image, OCR text, or relevant ledger context needed to complete your request may be sent directly from the app to the AI provider you configured.

The handling of that information is governed by the privacy policy and terms of the AI provider you choose. AI MoneyPal does not control third-party AI providers and does not receive your API key or AI requests through a developer server.

Receipt Images

Receipt images you attach or upload may be compressed and stored locally in the app, and may be associated with ledger entries. If iCloud sync is enabled, receipt data may also be included in your iCloud-synced app data. If you use AI receipt recognition, receipt images or extracted OCR text may be sent to your configured AI provider for processing.

Purchases

AI MoneyPal may offer a one-time in-app purchase to unlock Pro features. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. AI MoneyPal uses Apple's StoreKit framework to check purchase status. We do not receive or store your full payment card information.

Data We Do Not Collect

AI MoneyPal does not collect your ledger data on a developer-operated server. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your financial data for third-party advertising or tracking.

Diagnostics and Analytics

AI MoneyPal does not include third-party advertising trackers. Apple may provide developers with crash reports, diagnostics, or aggregated App Store analytics according to your device settings and Apple's policies.

Data Export and Deletion

AI MoneyPal includes features to export or delete data from within the app. You can also remove the app from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, some synced data may remain in iCloud until removed through the app, iCloud settings, or Apple's data management tools.

Children's Privacy

AI MoneyPal is not directed to children. The app is intended for personal finance tracking and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated server.

International Use

Because you may choose AI providers or Apple services that operate in different countries or regions, your information may be processed in locations determined by those providers when you use those features.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
